Zibibbo 73 - Authentic Italian Trattoria

Asked for a local recommendation from the hotel I was staying at and this was it. I was a little skeptical doing Italian when having lived in the Boston area for 30 years I am picky with my Italian food. This place knocked it outta the park. I tried their homemade blackberry sangria and it was fantastic. The bread service was great with a couple types of bread and some well done oil for dipping. I had the chicken parm and every part of it was delicious. The chicken was flattened and perfectly breaded to not take away from the chicken, and the cheese was perfect. The pasta was served just right and was one of those pastas that you appreciate just for the pasta itself. Great sauce too. I would say a perfect meal!

Always great authentic Italian food with fresh quality ingredients that shine through as wonderful textures and flavors! This has been one of my favorite restaurants for many years now. Whether it’s raw oysters and drinks at happy hour, a fancy brunch, or just a quick lunch, this place has never let me down. Today I had the lunch special of minestrone soup and an Italian sausage flat bread and my daughter had the gnocchi allá siciliano. Excellent!

Started off all wrong from the moment we walked in the door. Should have heeded the warning signs. Walked in and stood at the host stand for several minutes before receiving a very unwelcoming and cold greeting from the Hostess/manager. We made reservations on Open table prior to arriving but I guess that’s not important because we were never asked. Waited (again) several minutes after being seated before being acknowledged by our server. Friday night but it certainly wasn’t busy. Ordered our dinner and after about 20/25 minutes of waiting our server returned to ask “What did you order again”. I would have been a lot more understanding if he had simply apologized and stated that he forgot rather than simply walking up very blase’ after waiting so long and asking again what we had ordered. At this point I just wanted to leave but my husband asked to speak with the host/manager who came over ever so coldly again to ask what was wrong. She apologized and asked that we please not leave a bad review. No offer for an appetizer while we wait, no offer to quickly get our food out. Just sorry this happened and please don’t leave. I spent over 20 years in the restaurant industry so it’s especially frustrating to experience such poor lack of response to rectify the issue. The manager’s demeanor towards us was probably the most problematic part. Either way, new to Stafford and was really looking forward to a decent meal but this place is absolutely not worth the hype. This was our first and surely our last visit ever to Zibibbo.

The place is nice. However, we had to wait an hour for our food. Our waitress didn’t check on us that much at all. We visited last night and had reservations at 6:15. I know it being a Friday night it was going to be busy but I haven’t had to wait an hour for food in a long time. We had to flag down another waiter since our waitress didn’t check on us for at least 30 to 40 min. I feel the service should be better. If I come back it’a going to have to be during the week. I feel if you have to wait an hour for food then there should be a discount on your bill.
